Immersive Cross-Device Compatible Audio For A More Realistic Virtual Reality Experience – VR Ears Launches on Kickstarter

If you are a regular user of virtual reality then you may have experienced some annoying issues with your existing sound hardware. For me, comfort has been problematic with my Oculus Quest. I choose to wear my headstrap earphones over my Quest. The pressure on my ears causes discomfort during my gameplay but the pain can last for a time even after I have stopped. Second, is the lack of immersive sound to match the visual experience that I am enjoying. Sadly, I’m used to that now but it shouldn’t be that way. As a user, wouldn’t it be great to have an accurate immersive sound experience alongside your immersive visual experience?

Good news because an exciting spatial audio product that is compatible across cross-platform virtual reality headsets has launched on Kickstarter! VR Ears from Rebuff Reality are ‘premium off-ear speakers’. So no more pressure on your ears from either having earphones pressing against your ears or insert earphones that cause discomfort too. The part of their product detail that captivated my attention was the detail explaining that their ‘off-ear speaker design, pulls localization of the sound stage out of the head of the listener and transports you directly into the sound field’. I love that description taken directly from their campaign page! If you check out Rebuff Reality’s Kickstarter campaign you will see some beautiful videos showing exactly how the sound is delivered using their product promotional videos.

I came across this product for the very first time from this same Kickstarter campaign that I am sharing with you. Aside from solving my discomfort pain as well as giving me the fully immersive virtual reality experience that I absolutely want to have to optimise my time spent in VR, it is a solid investment for the future too. What do I mean? Well, VR Ears are compatible across various leading brands of VR Headsets (HMD: Head Mounted Displays). So? Well, this means that even if I were to upgrade or buy a new brand HMD in the future then I can simply connect my VR Ears to that new device and carry on with the optimised experience I would be used to. THAT is a good investment in my eyes.
